John William "Jack" DeFrancisco, 70, of Alsace Township, died August 7, 2011 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.
He was the husband of Kim Marie (Kauffman) DeFrancisco whom he married September 25, 1998.
Born June 18, 1941 in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late John Anthony and Eleanor (Davis) DeFrancisco.
Jack was a 1959 graduate of Liberty High School.
He was the owner of Plaza Barber Shop for 51 years, last working October 2010.
Jack raised horses for many years and was a training partner with his lifetime friend, Bill Greth, with whom he raced his Harness horses.
Also surviving are four children: Beth DeFrancisco of Upper Macungie Township, Brian DeFrancisco of Ruscombmanor Township, Christine Jannott of Newtown, CT and Amy Fick of Bath; two step-daughters, Brandi Flynn of Muhlenberg Township and Brooke Clark of Temple; a brother, Joseph, husband of Lucy DeFrancisco of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren: Zachary, J. Taylor, Peyton, Anna, Maddie, Casey and Allen; three step-grandchildren, Jalen, Trey and Garet; and four nieces, Lori Muhl, Kim Lavalva, Kelly Cooper and Jodi Rulf and their families.
Services will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 11:00-12:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
