John H. Corbit

John H. Corbit, 86, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away in the care of Berks Heim, on Friday, September 16, 2022. He was the widower of Henriette L. Corbit, who passed away on July 16, 2022.

Born in Reading to the late Samuel J. and Sallie M. (Printz) Corbit, John graduated from Wyomissing High School in 1954. John began his career with his uncle's company, Corbit's Inc. of Reading. After gaining 25 years of experience, John went into business himself and opened John H. Corbit, Inc, Mechanical Contracting.

A member of the Isaac Hiester Masonic Lodge No. 660, Reading, John obtained the distinction of 32⁰ Freeman. He was also a devoted member of the Rajah Shrine.

John loved to hunt, especially big game.

Left to treasure his memory is his daughter, Andrea L. Davidson, married to Ronald Davidson, of Murrells Inlet, SC; granddaughters Sara Bachman and Dr. Katie Campbell; great grandchildren McKenna and Luke Bachman; and his sister, Elizabeth A. Derenzo of Carlisle. In addition to his wife, John was predeceased by their son, John Corbit Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1009 Elizabeth Ave, Reading, PA 19605. Committal will be held privately.
