John C. Sauer

John C. Sauer, Jr., 79, of Exeter Twp., passed away on August 13, 2022, at Fairlane Gardens.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John C., Sr., and Eleanor (Stevens) Sauer.

He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1961 and the McCann School of Business in 1964 earning an associate's degree in Accounting.

John was an engineering aide for 17 years at Gilbert Associates, served in the same capacity at Mast Engineering, and was a supply clerk at UGI.

He was a member of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Penn. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he was an avid wrestling and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He was also a trivia nut, and was a longtime viewer of Jeopardy.

John is survived by his twin sister, Christine E., widow of Russell Cook, Jarrettsville, MD, and many loving extended family members as well as his longtime loving girlfriend, Ellen Bricker. He was predeceased by his brother, Steven Sauer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catharine of Siena RCC, Boyertown Pike with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Contributions may be made to St. Catharine's RCC or Animal Rescue League. Edward J.
