John C. Alexander

John C. Alexander, 74, of Bernville, passed away June 27, 2016, at St. Joseph Hospital.

He was the husband of Patricia A. (Horstman) Alexander. They were married on June 27, 1964. They were fortunate to make it to their 52nd wedding anniversary the day he passed.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Theodore and Miriam (Nagle) Alexander.

He was class president at Northwest Junior High School, a 1959 graduate of Reading High School and an apprentice for four years with the Carpenters Union #214.

John was employed by Supreme Ceilings as a carpenter for 37 years.

He was a member of the Jay Gee Travelers Club of Adamstown and was also an avid coin collector.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children: Tammy E., wife of Tony Parasco, Auburn; and Charles B., husband of Angela Alexander, Boyertown; three siblings: Theodore Alexander, Charleston, SC; Dorothy, wife of Robert Trimmer, Houston, TX; and Florence, wife of Robert Kupiszewski, Denver. Two grandchildren: Andrew, husband of Mandy Alexander; and Kourtney Alexander, all of Auburn; six grand puppies: Dakota; Buddy; Chance; Cali; Frank; and Brayden; one niece and four nephews also survive him.

John was predeceased by his son, John D. Alexander who died on March 26, 2008.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
