John E. Beck

John E. Beck, 96, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Laurel Center in Hamburg, where he resided since August 2022. He was the loving husband of Carylin L. Beck, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

Born in Port Carbon, he was the son of the late J. Edward and Myrtle (Miller) Beck. John was a carpenter employed for many years as a member of Carpenters Union Local 492 of Reading. In later years, he was also employed by the Reading Hospital and Medical Center from which he retired in 1990. He was a member of St. John's Church in Auburn and a Masonic member of the Schuylkill Lodge #138 F. & A.M. in Orwigsburg. He was also a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Reading.

Throughout his life, John enjoyed many family activities plus various sports including hunting, fishing, golf, and auto racing. He participated in and enjoyed these activities frequently in the company of his family and friends.

John is survived by three sons, Ned A. (Patty) Beck of Auburn, Hal D. (Jackie) Beck, of Green Cove Springs, FL, John E. (Jeanne) Beck III of Carolina Shores, NC, and a daughter, Lisa A (David) Eldridge of Deland, FL, in addition to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife Carylin L. Beck on December 15, 2024, and by brothers, William C. Beck and Robert E. Beck.

A joint memorial service for John and Carrie will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory, 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg, PA 19526.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John's memory to St. John's Church, 200 Pearson Street, Auburn, PA, 17922.
