John P. Beccone

John P. Beccone, 68, of Iron Circle, Cumru Township, died of natural causes March 10 at 5:37 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Feb. 23.

He was the husband of Camille A. (Aimone) Beccone.

Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late Lewis and Angeline (Cataldo) Beccone.

Beccone was employed for 38 years as an engineer by AT&T Bell Labs, Murray Hill, N.J., and Reading, retiring in December 1997.

He was a 1953 graduate of Hazleton High School and a 1960 graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Beccone was a member of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Robeson Township.

He was an Air Force veteran.

Beccone is also survived by two sons, Martin D., Hazleton, and Christopher J., Crofton, Md.

Other survivors include a brother, James, Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County; and a sister, Catherine (Beccone) Bononi, Greensburg, Westmoreland County.

There are also four grandchildren.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Benedict's Church. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
