Johann K. Stelzpflug

Johann K. "Hans" Stelzpflug, 73, died of natural causes July 8 at 1:50 a.m. in his residence in Reading.

Born in Foeching, Germany, he was a son of the late Josef and Ursula (Ranner) Stelzpflug.

Stelzpflug was employed for 40 years as a butcher/meat packer by Berks Packing Co. Inc., Reading, retiring May 17, 1996.

He was a Navy veteran.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas M., Shillington, and Franz H., Muhlenberg Township; and a daughter, Trudy A. (Stelzpflug) Michael, Shillington.

Other survivors include a sister, Rosa (Stelzpflug) Derings, Kolbermoor, Germany; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Marie Stelzpflug.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale.
