Joanne R. Smith

Joanne R. Smith, 63 of Deer Lake died December 27th in St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center. She was the husband of Carl J. Smith. Joanne was born in West Reading and was the daughter of the late Myrtel (Brightbill) Neuin and Samuel S, Neuin, Sr. of Bernville. Joanne was a 1967 graduate of Tulpehocken High School and a graduate of Reading Area Community College. She worked 20 years for the former Western Electric Company as a manufacturing operator. In addition to her father and husband , Joanne is survived by two daughters; Brynell Spencer Stevens wife of Eric L. Stevens, Auburn, Rachel A. Philbin, Sinking Spring two grandsons Jesse D. Spencer, Camp Lejeune, N.C. and William W. Spencer, Auburn, one brother, Eric M. Neuin, Bernville. She was predeceased by two brothers, David A. Neuin and Samuel S. Neuin. A Time of Remembrance will be held on Friday, January 4th, 2013 at 4:00 PM in the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home Inc., 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg, PA. A visitation with the family will be from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. There is no viewing. Burial will be private.
