Joanne L. Byrne

Joanne L. (Loness) Byrne, 66, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, in her Wernersville residence. She was the loving wife of Stephen F. Byrne, whom she married on May 16, 1993 in Mount Penn.

Born in Reading on September 4, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Effie (Young) Loness.

She graduated from Exeter Township Senior High School in 1975. Joanne worked for the United States Postal Service, before retiring in 2021 after 32 years of service.

Joanne was a remarkable woman whose greatest joy in life was being a devoted mother to Kristi and wife to Steve. Her warm and nurturing spirit filled the home with love, laughter, and cherished moments that will forever etch in the families hearts. She had an extraordinary talent for creating a sense of warmth and togetherness, whether through her delicious baked treats, experimenting with new recipes, or decorating their house for every holiday. Her love for family was unwavering, and the memories she crafted will be a lasting legacy.

In addition to her husband and daughter, she is survived by her siblings: Jesse, Jeanie, John, Fred, and Randy Loness, and Ronnie and Rick Painter.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a service to begin at 2 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
