Joanna F. Schifalacqua

Joanna F. Schifalacqua, 85, of Wyomissing, devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother, passed away June 27, 2007 in the Reading Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Mariano A. Schifalacqua, who died July 19, 1981.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Pellegrino and Francesca (Pescatore) Bosco.

She was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School, Philadelphia-1939.

Joanna was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

She was the former President of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church Mothers Club.

Joanna worked as an administrative assistant for J.P. Lippincott, Inc. Phila., The Philadelphia School District in data entry, and also in sales at David Crystal, Reading.

Joanna is survived by three sons Mariano A. husband of Marita, Milwawkee, Wis.,Dr. I.E. husband of Christine, Sinking Spring, and James F. husband of Wendy, Bristow, Va. And two daughters Eda J. wife of Dr. Robert Schramm, East Stroudsburg, and Joanna F. Atkins, Phila.

Other survivors include a brother Modesto Bosco, Phila, and a sister Carmella (Bosco) Deplato, Phila.

Joanna is also survived by twelve grandchildren Robert, Erich and Maria Schramm, Marc, Megan, Maura, Victoria, Philip, Michael, John, Jenna, and Andrew Schifalacqua.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home 739 Penn Ave. West Reading, PA. 19611.
