Joann L. Keltz

Joann L. Keltz, 88, formerly of Mohnton, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in the care of Mifflin Center. She was the widow of Bernard "Beanie" T. Keltz, who passed away on January 11, 1990.

Born to M. Luther and Evelyn L. (Nagle) Kerchoff, Joann graduated from Reading High School in 1952. Joann was a hard worker who officially retired in 2009 from Sovereign Bank. She previously served as the West Reading Tax Collector. She also formerly worked as an office assistant for the Reading Brewery and held many fond memories of her time there.

Prior to her Parkinson's diagnosis, Joann loved going to the beach, spending days shopping with her daughter, Beth, and treasuring as much time as she could with her granddaughter, Logan. Logan was Joann's pride and joy and she was so proud of the wonderful person that Logan has grown to be. Joann loved going out to dinner and wine tastings, and she enjoyed all the wonderful things life had to offer. Joann was an avid reader and enjoyed a variety of genres, though she took particular enjoyment from John Grisham novels. She was known to enjoy a glass of whiskey when settled in for the evening. Her beloved family takes great comfort in knowing that Joann has been reunited with the love of her life, her husband Beanie.

Joann's memory will be treasured by her daughter, Beth A. Sell, wife of Daniel C. Sell Jr., of Sinking Spring; her stepdaughters, Bernadine DeSante of Exeter and Maureen Keltz of Wyomissing; her granddaughter, Logan T. Sell; her step grandchildren, James Brenner, Terrence Brenner, Michael Brenner, Terese Cooney, and Michael DeSante; and 13 step great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Joann was predeceased by her stepson, Dennis Keltz, who is survived by his widow, Anita; her stepdaughter, Joanne Brenner, predeceased by her husband, James; and her canine companion, Lily.

Services for Joann are private at the convenience of her family. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
