Joan "Jody" (Keller) Sponsler, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, in her West Lawn home. She was the widow of William "Bing" Sponsler, who passed away in 1988.
Born in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late James R. and Beryl L. (Osman) Keller. Jody graduated from John Harris High School and completed coursework in addiction studies at Alvernia University. She worked as an executive assistant at Allegheny Airlines and a pharmacy tech at Ronco's Drug Store. For more than 35 years, Jody volunteered at the Caron Foundation, impacting countless lives.
Jody was a beloved member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church of Sinking Spring. She was a friend of Bill W. for more than 39 years.
She enjoyed baking, gardening, and reading. Jody loved all animals, most of all dogs. She will be remembered for her generosity, wit, feisty Irish spirit, and miraculous ability to remember everyone's favorite cakes.
Left to treasure Jody's memory are her sister, Janice Cuddington, wife of David; her nieces, Jillian Fry and Lynne Mader, wife of Glenn; nephew, James Keller, husband of Deborah; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; extended family; and many cherished friends.
Jody was predeceased by her brother, James Keller and wife Bette, and her nephew, Scott Keller.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be offered to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Rd, Birdsboro, PA 19508, or online at https://berksarl.org/.
