Joan L. O'Neill

Joan Louise (Heins) O'Neill, 80, of Cumru Township and formerly of Madison St., Shillington, died November 16, 2010 in the Reading Hospital.

She was the wife of Benjamin H. O'Neill, a resident of Berks Heim.

Born in the Reading Hospital on November 30, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Frank E. and Blanche E. (Hepler) Heins.

She was a 1948 graduate of West Reading High School and attended McCann's School of Business.

Joan was employed 10 years as a cashier with Revco, Cumru Township, retiring in 1997.

She is survived by five children: Michael A. O'Neill of New York City; Brian S. O'Neill and Kim A. Smith of Fleetwood; Timothy M. O'Neill of Bernville; Jeffrey T., husband of Gretchen A. (Rotell) O'Neill of Aldan, Delaware County and Amy L. O'Neill of Spring Township.

Other survivors include a brother-in-law, Charles Kissinger of Sinking Spring and two grandchildren: Kelly L. (O'Neill), wife of Nelson Stubbs and Michael R. Swavely.

There are also three great grandchildren surviving: Alivia J. Stubbs, Nelson B. Stubbs and Tylor L. Stubbs.

She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara L. Kissinger.

Services will be held Saturday at 9:30am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, with Rev. Barry Zimmerman officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
