Joan E. Nelson

Joan Elizabeth (Buchanan) Nelson, 70, formerly of 104 Front St., Harrisburg and Pottsville died January 29th at 10:47 p.m. in her residence at 800 Court Street, Reading.

Born in Tremont, Schuylkill County she was a daughter of the late George B. and Helen E. (Schlegel) Buchanan.

She was a 1950 graduate of Tremont High School, Schuylkill County and a 1953 graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

Nelson worked as a registered nurse at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center for a number of years.

She is survived by two sons, Hank E. Nelson III of Wickenburg, Arizona and Michael R. Nelson of Sinking Spring.

Nelson is also survived by a sister, Barbara B. (Buchanan) Kreidler of Fort Madison, Iowa.

Other survivors include 5 grandchildren.

Services and burial will be private. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
