Joan I. Mcglynn

Joan I McGlynn, 87, formerly of Lehighton, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in her Reading residence. She was the widow of Joseph McGlynn, who passed away in 2004.

Born in Lehighton to the late David and Virginia (May) Laury, Joan graduated from Lehighton High School in 1954. She and Joseph married in 1957.

Joan was a devoted mother and treasured her grandchildren. After her family was established, she entered the workforce. For over 25 years, she worked as a clerk for Yorgey's Fine Dry Cleaning, ultimately serving as the supervisor for the Revere Boulevard location.

Left to treasure Joan's memory are her children: Kelly McGlynn, companion of John DuVal; David McGlynn, husband of Kimberly; and Patty Arbogast, fiance of Tom Apsokardu, who resided with Joan and served as her primary caregiver for the last four years. Joan is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Gilbert and Joseph McGlynn, and her great grandchildren, Kylie and Damien.
