Joan L. Heist

Joan L. (Crocona) Heist, 77, of West Reading, died January 12, 2011, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Her husband, Vincent G. Heist, died February 16, 2001.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Lawrence) Crocona.

She was a 1951 graduate of West Reading High School.

Joan was employed by Potteiger Construction, West Reading as their Office Manager. She previously worked as the secretary for Sacred Heart Roman Catholic School and Church.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Joan was a volunteer for Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Joan is survived by her son Vince, husband of Allison Heist, Plantation, FL; her step-daughter, Susan E., wife of William Dewald, Gainesville, GA; her step-son, Thomas C, husband of Janet Heist, Wyomissing; her brother, Joseph, husband of Georgine Crocona, Hawaii; her sister, Rosalie, widow of William Feick, West Reading; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
