Joan A. Gaul

Joan A Gaul, 91, of Shillington, PA, passed on to the Lord, January 9, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Dale W. Gaul. Born in Reading, Joan was the daughter of Luther and Anna Mae Noll. The youngest of six children, she was the only child to be born in a hospital (Reading Hospital), and she was also the only one to go on to higher education, graduating as an RN from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. A graduate of Reading High School, and having grown up in Northeast Reading, she received her entire schooling, K-12, on 13th Street in Reading. Her favorite pet was her dog, Katie.

She is survived by three children: Theodore C. Gaul, husband of Dr. Tracey (Cosgrave) Gaul; Dr. Connie Gallen, wife of John Gallen; and Scott S. Gaul, husband of Stephnie (Pasko) Gaul. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Sarah, Maggie, Abel, Daniel, Gabriel, and Christian; and five great-grandchildren: Aidan, Jacob, Oliver, Melba, and Tully.

Mom was a true believer. The Apostle Paul says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. That's where Mom is now.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, Rev. Sam Smucker presiding. Friends may call one hour prior to the service for visitation. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Fellowship Church, 622 Old Lancaster Pike, Shillington.
