Joan D. Kline, 74, passed away February 14, 2012 in her Spring Township residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of William C. Kline, Jr., whom she had been married to for 53 & 1/2 years.
Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Charles L. and Minerva B. (Rothermel) Minnich.
She was a 1955 graduate of West Reading High School.
She worked in the office of Carpenter Technology Corp. and later worked for The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, retiring in 2005 as a cash posting analyst.
Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She supported her grandchildren like they were her own children; attending all their sports games and school activities. She and Bill enjoyed traveling, especially going to Hawaii, Myrtle Beach, Disney and the casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas.
She was very proud to have been a cheerleading coach for the West Reading Little League for 25 years.
Joan was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sinking Spring.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children: Kimberly A., wife of Robert D. Warkoczewski, Mohnton; Tracey L., wife of Perry D. Kern, Denver and Kyle W., husband of Kristen W. Kline, Sinking Spring. Also surviving are her siblings: Betty J., wife of Al E. Spotts, Sinking Spring; Charles L., husband of June Minnich, Robesonia; Shirley F., widow of John Hoffman, Temple; her niece, Cheri, wife of Robert Garman, Sinking Spring; her nephew, Jeffrey Spotts, Shillington and her great-niece, Meagan Palmer, Sinking Spring. Six grandchildren: Shelly A. Brodman, Keionna L. Brodman, Nicholas K. Kline, Michael W. Kline, Alison W. Kline and Amanda R. Kline also survive her. She will be dearly missed by her dog, Korkie the Yorkie.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
