Joan K. Becker

Joan K. Becker, 61, of Illinois Avenue, Lower Heidelberg Township, died of natural causes Aug. 28 at 7:05 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient since Aug. 5.

She was the wife of Russell V. Becker Jr.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Claude Keim, Reading, and Miriam (Mohn) Keim, Sinking Spring.

Becker was employed for the past 42 years as a legal secretary by Austin, Boland, Conner & Giorgi, Reading.

She was a 1959 graduate of Reading High School.

Becker was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

She is also survived by a son, Russell V. III, Chicago; and two daughters, Jane M. (Becker) Peters and Melissa A. (Becker) Watterson, both of Sinking Spring.

Other survivors include a brother, Claude Keim Jr., Wernersville, and a sister, Jean (Keim) VonNeida, Temple.

There are also six grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle Church, 420 Holland Street, Shillington, Pa 19607. Viewing Monday evening 6:30 - 8:30 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Contributions may be made to the church or Reading Hospital & Medical Center Development Fund, c/o Oncology, PO Box 16052, Reading, Pa 19612. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township.
