Jo Ann Hofer

Jo Ann (Scheibner) Hofer, 73, died May 25, 2015, in her Exeter Township residence.

She was the wife of John W. Hofer. They would have celebrated their 53 years of marriage on June 23, 2015.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Thelen) Scheibner.

She attended West Reading High School and graduated from Western Hills High School, Cincinnati, OH in 1960.

Jo Ann was a medical transcriptionist for Berks ENT Associates, retiring in 2005.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children: Theresa L., wife of Nicholas Grejdus, Exeter Township, John E., husband of Deborah Hofer, Pottstown, Lisa M., wife of Douglas Sutton, Alpharetta, GA and James J. Hofer, Sacramento, CA; her brother, Robert, husband of Joan Scheibner, Macungie; seven grandchildren: Jeffrey, Joseph, Christopher, Ryan, Alex, Drew and Chad; and five great-grandchildren: Madison, Aayla, A.J., Chase and Olivia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 905 Chestnut St, Douglassville, PA 19518. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading and Sat from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in the church. Contributions made to Immaculate Conception R.C.
