Jimmy Lee Trate

Jimmy Lee Trate, Sr. 63 of Tilden Township died February 28, 2017 in his residence. He was the husband of Wanda J. (Grammes) Trate. Jimmy was born in Windsor Township and was the son of the late Herman and Shirley (Bailey) Trate. He attended Hamburg Area Schools and was a Vietnam U.S. Army veteran. Jimmy worked at Hamburg Manufacturing for 26 years as a pattern and flask changer. He was a long time, devoted member of the Shoemakersville Fire Company where he served as an officer the past six years and was currently Head Trustee. Jimmy enjoyed Nascar and his favorite driver was Jimmie Johnson. In addition to his wife, Jimmy is survived by his step-mother; Althea Moyer, Topton, one son; Jimmy L. Trate, Jr. companion of Gretchen T. Moore, Hamburg and his grandson Gabriel, one brother; George M. Trate husband of Karlene I, Alburtis, sisters; Peach Mazy wife of Mark, Alburtis, Sheila Omacht, Kutztown, Penny Trate, Topton and Cathy Trate, Alburtis. Five brothers predeceased him. A memorial service with a time of sharing will be held on Monday, March 6 th at 12:00 noon at the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. 4 th Street, Hamburg. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
