Jessie Jean Rowe

Jessie Jean Rowe, 77, of Centre Township, died August 25, 2009 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading.

Born November 12, 1931 in Myerstown, she was a daughter of the late John Earl and Erma (Gibble) Rowe.

Jessie was a graduate of Myerstown High School and a 1953 graduate of East Stroudsburg University.

She was employed by Schuylkill Valley School District for 34 years as a Physical Education teacher as well as a coach of softball, field hockey and basketball.

Jessie was a member of the Pennsylvania Public Schools Employees Retirement System. She was also very active with the Berks County Dog Triaining.

Surviving is a brother, Leonart Rowe of Kent, WA and a sister Vivian Baal of Lebanon.

In addition, there are two nieces surviving.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Laureldale Cemetery, Pottsville Pike and Tuckerton Road. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
