Jerry L. Hughes

Jerry L. Hughes, 80, of Hamburg, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in Lebanon VA Medical Center.

He was the beloved husband of Sharon A. Hughes.

Born May 31, 1940, in Robertsdale, PA, Huntington County, he was the son of the late Lester E. and Helen L. (Ross) Hughes.

Jerry was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School and Old Dominion University.

Jerry retired as an engineering consultant, and was a lifelong member of the Hamburg Fish and Game Association.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by two daughters: Jennifer, wife of Scott Daniels, Laureldale; and Stephanie Zimmerman, Rehrersburg. There are also six grandchildren: Rebecca Heiser, wife of Jeffrey Heiser, Jr., Temple, Ryan Daniels, husband of Stephanie Daniels, Ephrata, Nathan Daniels, husband of Ryley Daniels, Exeter, Sarah Deitz, wife of Frank Deitz, Pine Grove, Zachery Zimmerman, Grahamsville, NY, Matthew Zimmerman, Cleona and eight great-grandchildren: Madison, Matthew, and Savannah Heiser, Emily, Lyla, and Maggie Daniels, John Daniels, and Carson Deitz.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jerry's honor to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042.
