Jerry C. Dalton

Jerry C. Dalton, 72, passed away on Friday, August 12th, 2022 in his Reading residence. He was the loving husband of Karen (Glase) Dalton, with whom he shared nearly 40 years.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late James and Laura (Schoelkopf) Dalton. Jerry was a Boy Scout as a young man, and learned many important skills in that organization that he would go on to share proudly with his sons and grandchildren. He graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1968, and eventually settled into a long career as a truck driver, transporting medical gasses. He covered over three million miles in this work, and referred to himself as "gear-jamming, double-clutching, coffee-slurping."

Jerry served his community as an active member of the East Reading Pool Board of Directors for 19 years, and by volunteering with Operation Scarlet, a Shar-Pei rescue organization.

In addition to his wife, Karen, Jerry is survived by sons: Toey Goodman, husband of Lisa, of Muhlenberg Township, Corey Dalton, husband of Jessica, of Tilden Township, and Eric Dalton, husband of Heather, of Keyport, NJ; sister, Janice Lamm of Wernersville; grandchildren: Jacob, Jeremy, and Allison; sister-in-law, Sandy Barrett of Muhlenberg Township; and his beloved Shar-Pei rescue, Haven. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Jerry was preceded in death by brother, James Dalton; and grandson, Anthony Charles Goodman Jr.

Words of remembrance will be shared by family and friends at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 20th, 2022 at Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory, 5153 Kutztown Road, Temple, PA 19560. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reading.
