Jennie G. Mulligan

Jennie Genevieve (Ziemba) Mulligan, 88, formerly of Shillington, died December 30, 2007 at 7:40 am in ManorCare Health Services, Inc., Spring Township, where she had been a patient since May 12, 2006.

She was the widow of Donald Edward Mulligan, who died July 10, 2002.

Born in Reading, PA, on November 13, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Luke and Angela (Deren) Ziemba.

She was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

Jennie was employed a number of years as a folder with Berkshire Knitting Mills and then as a packer with both Palmer Candies, West Reading and Bortz's Candies, Shillington before retiring.

She served as a secretary for 12 years with Friendly Circle Senior Citizens Group, Shillington.

Jennie is survived by three children, Donald R. husband of Christine (Dahar) Mulligan of Phoenix, Arizona; Rita E. (Mulligan) wife of Randall L. Miller of Reinholds and James D. husband of Cathy L. (Schaeffer) Mulligan of Hershey.

Other survivors include three siblings, Edward Ziemba of Spring Township; Stella (Ziemba) Radwanski of Kenhorst and Genevieve "Vig" (Ziemba) Simon of Shillington.

There are also six grandchildren, Tara (Miller) Hart, Erin (Mulligan) Pysell, Tamara (Miller) Kirwan, Ryan Mulligan, Jack Mulligan and Sam Mulligan; and six great grandchildren, Bailey Formicone, Brady Hart, Elise Kirwan, Mia Kirwan, Sterling Pysell and Xander Pysell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 am in St. John's R.C. Church, 420 Holland Street, Shillington, PA 19607 with a visitation in the church one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be to the church at the above address. Edward J.
