Jennie M. Arnold

Jennie Marie Arnold, 101, passed away May 28, 2016, in the Reading Hospital.

Her husband Carl G. Arnold died on February 12, 2011.

Born in Cresson, PA, she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Louisa (Quaglia) DiPaolo.

Jennie was employed by Narrow Fabrics in Wyomissing where she made lace for fancy dresses and parachute cords during World War II. She also worked at Moore's Diner in the city of Reading. Jennie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She also volunteered at Berks Heim for 18 years.

Jennie is survived by her son, C. Gary, husband of Anne Arnold, Sinking Spring. Two grandchildren, Pamela A., wife of Michael J. Progansky III; and Keith J., husband of Jennifer Arnold; three great grandchildren, Paige A. Progansky, Braeden P. Arnold, and Colin J. Arnold also survive her.

In addition to her husband she was predeceased by siblings: William DiPaolo, Antonette Reiter, Joseph DiPaolo, and Julia DiPaolo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. in Gethsemane Chapel, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605. Entombment will follow the service. A viewing will be held Thursday from 9:30-11 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading.
