Jeffrey Gerard Lloyd

Jeffrey Gerard Lloyd, 60, passed away unexpectedly on January 14th, 2023. Born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Reading, PA, he was the son of Michele (Malpede) Clemente and the late John W Lloyd, and was reared by his loving father John Clemente.

Jeff was a proud graduate of Wyomissing Area HS. After high school Jeff earned his Associate's Degree from Wesley College before attending the University of Maryland to earn his Bachelor's Degree. During his time at Maryland, he found a cherished sense of brotherhood as a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, a bond that remained dear to him throughout his life.

Post-graduation, Jeff embarked on an adventurous journey with a few fraternity brothers, traversing the U.S. and eventually settling in San Diego. There, they ingeniously sold pictures to tourists, capturing moments with a cardboard cutout of Ronald Reagan. Upon returning to the East Coast, Jeff pursued a fulfilling career path that saw him spend over 25 years in various positions in the mortgage industry, from Loan Officer to Vice President.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Jeff cultivated enduring connections with friends from every chapter of his life. His unwavering loyalty to these friendships was a distinctive and cherished trait.

Jeff played football and basketball at Wyomissing and remained a lifetime sports fan, he always held a passion for the Wyomissing Spartans, Maryland Terrapins, Philadelphia 76ers, and Dallas Cowboys. He loved sharing stories about his sports heroes, in particular always expressing a depth of admiration for Len Bias and Julius Erving (Dr. J), who he was privileged enough to meet on two occasions. Jeff was a longtime fan of auto racing, and especially loved watching stock cars and cheering on Kyle Larson. Those who knew Jeff were well aware of his love for muscle cars off the track as well, and he could be seen cruising around in a Supra, 300ZX, or his current Camaro SS.

While these passions filled parts of his life, Jeff's true joy was found in the company of his family. Nothing meant more to him than the cherished moments spent with his adored son, Nicholas. Jeff celebrated being active in Nick's life, always taking the opportunity to participate in his pursuits. He valued the years spent coaching Nick and his friends through various stages of the sports they loved. Jeff derived great pleasure taking Nick to the Shore, continuing the tradition of annual summer trips to the beach - an experience rooted in Jeff's own childhood memories with his family.

Jeffrey will be eternally cherished by his parents, Michele and John Clemente, Son, Nicholas Lloyd, Siblings and their families, John Lloyd (Beth) children Veronica and Spencer, Richelle Clemente, children Zachary and Anthony Jeffrey, Anthony Clemente (Katie), children John, Mia, and Alexander, Steffanie Lloyd-Abbattiscianni (Frank), children Alyssa and Anthony, Cousin Zachary DeCarlo [Mary]. He was pre-deceased by cousin, Michael DeCarlo.

An immeasurable sadness blankets our broken hearts, and an unfathomable sorrow engulfs us. The depth of our grief is immeasurable, casting us into a world forever changed without the presence of Jeffrey. His tragic loss finds us clinging to cherished memories while being relentlessly tormented with the pain of an irreplaceable void left in our lives.
