Jeffrey L. Fegley, 57, of Hyde Park, died peacefully on May 24, 2015, in St. Joseph's Hospital after a two year courageous battle with Glioblastoma.
He was the loving husband of Barbara L. (Dickson) Fegley, to whom he married on April 3, 1982.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Richard and Charlotte (Fry) Fegley, Reading.
He was a graduate of Reading High School in 1975, where he was a member of the award winning "Castleiers" marching band and the Reading High School Alumni Band. He also attended RACC.
Jeffrey was a supervisor at Lentz Milling for 39 years, last working in August.
He was a high school and college girls' softball umpire for over 15 years. Jeff coached his children's youth teams in both baseball and basketball. A sports enthusiast, he played in various softball, basketball and bowling leagues in Reading. He was also an avid golfer. Always musically inclined, he loved the Reading Jazz Fest and was an expert saxophone player.
The most important thing to Jeff was spending time with his family, especially the annual beach vacations that they spent together.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his beloved children, Andrew R., (Jennifer), Lincoln Park and Laura L., a recent graduate of Bloomsburg University. There are two brothers, Scott R., Mt. Penn and Gregory R., (Kathy), Spring Twp. His sisters-in-law, Carolyn Young, Deborah Kraft and Joann Pacifico; his mother-in-law, Marcia Auman; and several nieces and nephews also survive him. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Merritt Auman.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12 to 1 p.m., with services held Friday at 1 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
