Jeannette R. Shurr

Jeannette R. Shurr, 89, of Wyomissing, PA passed away on November 5, 2015. Her husband, P. Lester Shurr, preceded her on September 5, 1994. Jeannette was a resident of The Highlands with her companion Robert Wawrousek, who had passed in Nov. 2011. Jeannette was born in Reading, PA on January 24, 1926, the daughter of the late Luther E. Pflum and Katherine (Spatz) Pflum. Jeannette was a graduate of Reading High School and went on to attend Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, as well as graduating from Traphagen School of Fashion in New York City. Her fashion designs received numerous awards and were featured in glamour magazines. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing. Jeannette was employed by Wells Fargo Bank for over 30 years, finally retiring from the International and Trust Department in 1991. She is survived by her son Robert P. Seidel, CBS TV Network VP Engineering and Advanced Technology, of Belle Mead, NJ and her granddaughter Dr. Ann Marie Seidel Psy.D of Boston, MA.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing, followed by interment at Laureldale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
