Jeannette M. Schmidbauer

Jeannette M. (Kohl) Schmidbauer, 73, of Reading, passed away in her residence, surrounded by her loving family on April 1, 2008.

She was the wife of Ludwig A. Schmidbauer. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2007.

Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Geiger) Kohl.

She was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Tuckerton.

Jeannette was a graduate of West Reading High School in 1952, and earned a bachelor's degree in education at Penn State University in 1957.

She was employed as a high school business teacher at West Reading High School where she was an advisor to the Lariat newspaper. She also taught at various Berks County school districts and later she became a financial advisor with Waddell and Reed for over 20 years, retiring in 2002.

Jeannette's hobbies include Bridge, Tennis, and Shopping. Most importantly she was a loving and devoted grandmother.

In addition to her husband, there are three daughters, Diana M., wife of Dale Stone, Spring Township, Debra A., wife of Joseph Raibick, Muhlenberg Township, Sandra J., wife of Dennis Barber, Heidelberg Township, six grandchildren, Joshua Raibick, Eric Stone, Robert Stone, Lindsay Barber, Rachel Barber, and Kathryn Barber.

Jeannette is predeceased by a brother Edward Kohl.

Services will be Friday at 11:00am. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home., Inc. 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be held in Berks County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Thursday 6:30pm.- 8:30pm. in the funeral home and Friday 10:00am.-11:00am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Shepherd United Church of Christ Building Fund., 100 Tuckerton Rd. Reading, PA 19605.
