Jeanne Lois Johnson

Jeanne L. (Hall) Johnson, 72, Cumru Township, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 1:25p.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center.

Born in York, PA, she was the daughter of William Hall and Gladys (Newson) Hall.

She was the wife of the late Harold R. Johnson; married 41 years and lived in Reading, PA.

She was a 1959 graduate of William Penn High School.

Jeanne was employed as an Administrative Assistant at Met-Ed, and One Church, One Child.

Jeanne was a long time member of St. James Chapel C.O.G.I.C., Reading, PA where she served as an usher.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Dawn R. Johnson-Evans, wife of Wayne Evans, of Shillington, and her son, Jan-Michael Johnson, husband of Irene (Eyenike) Johnson, of Spring Township.

Other survivors include three grandchildren: Ryan, Devon, and Rianna Johnson. She is also survived by eight brothers: William Hall Jr., Robert Hall, Henry Hall, John Hall, Roland "Skeet" Lowrie, Curtis Randolph, Joseph Newson, Timothy Newson; six sisters: Helen (Hall) Davidson, Ruth Ann (Hall) Natole, Mary Louise Preston, Ruby Newson, Ruth Walker, and Angel Moody; two aunts, Henrietta Hardy-Brown and Shirley Greenfield; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Norman Hall and Phillip Hall.

A viewing will be held Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Ave. West Reading, PA 1961. Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in St. James Chapel, 11 S 9th St, Reading, PA 19602, with a viewing one hour prior, in the church. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
