Jeanne M. Gould

Jeanne M. (Zerbe) Gould, 52, of 1119 Allegheny Avenue, Reading, Pa 19601, died February 28th at 6:05 am in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township where she had been since February 3rd.

She was the wife of Allen R. Gould Sr.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Melva (Machemer) Zerbe.

Gould worked for 24 years as a candymaker at Luden's - Hershey Candies, Reading until her retirement in 1995.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Reading.

Gould was a past member of the West Lawn Fire Company Ladies auxiliary and a past member of the Baer Park Parents Association.

She is also survived by a son, Richard A. Gould, Mayor of West Lawn; a daughter, Denise A. Gould of Laureldale and a step-son, Jesse R. Zerbe of Reading.

Other survivors include three sisters, Dorothy (Zerbe) Folk of Virginville, Rosemarie (Zerbe) Beckett of Boyertown and Mary Ellen Zerbe of Bethel.

There are also three brothers, Frederick A. of Reading, Michael I. of Wyomissing and James E. of Exeter Township.

She is also survived by five grandchildren.

Gould was predeceased by a brother, Richard J. Zerbe.

Services will be Wednesday at 10am in Christ Lutheran Church, 1301 Luzerne Street, Reading. Rev. Bruce G. Osterhaut officiating. Viewings Tuesday evening 6:30 - 8:30 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale and Wednesday morning 9:30 - 10:00 am in the church. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Jeanne Gould Memorial Christmas Dinner Fund, c/o Millennium Bank, 2800 State Hill Road, Wyomissing, Pa 19610.
