Jeanette A. Born

Jeanette A. Born, 78, of Cumru Township, died October 29, 2010 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the widow of Donald W. Born, who passed way June 14, 1985.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Paul K. and Adelaide G. (White) Reiter.

Jeanette was a 1950 graduate of Shillington High School.

She was the co-owner of D & J Sandwich Shop, Lincoln Park, which she and Donald developed and founded in 1968 and operated until 1997.

Jeanette was a member of Christ Yocom Church, Shillington, where she served as secretary for several years.

She was an avid gardener and cook and enjoyed the company of her neighbors.

Jeanette was the treasurer for the Grill Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her two children: Randy M. Born, companion of Ann L. Willet, Mohnton and Donna J., wife of Jacob C. Ruth, Jr., Mohnton. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara A., widow of Herman E. Walter, Shillington. There are two grandchildren: Brian P., husband of Gina M. Ruth, Shillington, Sherri E., wife of Ryan F. Evans, Shillington and four great-grandchildren: Sierra, Emily, Kylie, and Faith surviving her. She will be dearly missed by her golden retriever, Abby.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Yocom Church, 840 Philadelphia Ave., Reading, PA 19607. Edward J.
