Jean L. Seiger

Jean L. (Rubright) Seiger, 85 formerly of Shoemakersville died June 3rd in Manor Care, Sinking Spring where she had resided the past 2 years. She was the widow of Robert R. Seiger who died January 26, 2008. Jean was born in Shoemakersville and was the daughter of the late George M. Rubright and Florence Mae (Nee Boyer) Rubright Schaeffer. She attended Perry High School and the Brylan Beauty School in Reading. Jean was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to The Shoemakersville Fire Company. She was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville. She worked for Merit Underwear and Mayfair Underwear as a folder and floor lady for most of her career. Jean loved her cats, going to the beach, bingo, flowers and cooking Christmas cookies. She also enjoyed attending the Reading Phillies games. She is survived by 1 brother, George M. Rubright, Florida, 3 sisters, Barbara Heck, Shoemakersville, Carolyn Wagner, Shoemakersville, and Patricia Reed, Laureldale, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Anna L. Rubright and Mabel L. Achenbach. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Luke's Cemetery.
