Jean Sarah Bampton

Jean Sarah Bampton, 90, of Laureldale, died December 15, 2014 in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township.

She was the wife of Charles Philip Bampton, who died in 1976.

Born October 30, 1924 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Esther S. (Kline) Phillips.

Jean was a graduate of Ontelaunee High School.

She was employed as a seamstress with David Crystal for 15 years, retiring in 1980.

Jean was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Surviving are her son: Kerry S., husband of Donna L. (Hill) Bampton of Laureldale.

Other survivors include her five grandchildren: Jeremy, Sarah, Nicholas, Stacy and Allison.

Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Billman, who died May 17, 2012.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Maidencreek Cemetery.
