Jean L. Oswald

Jean L. (Reifsnyder) Oswald, 68, of Wyomissing, passed away November 20, 2014 in her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Nelson Oswald, whom she married September 11, 1965.

Born at home in the Village of Pleasantville, Oley Township, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Carolina (Herbein) Reifsnyder.

A 1965 graduate of Oley Valley Area School District, Jean was a homemaker, exceptional baker, and on-call baby sitter for six grandchildren. She loved watching her grandchildren's sports and musical events; hosting Christmas Eve at G-Ma's, and a week at the Jersey Shore. She also enjoyed birdwatching and walks in the Wyomissing Park.

Jean was a co-owner of Ozzy's Family Fun Center.

In addition to her husband Jean is survived by her three children: Dawn Weidner, wife of Randy, and their children: Samuel, Katherine, and Emily, of Wyomissing; Jodi Brick and her son, Jacob, of Wyomissing; and Joshua Oswald, husband of Lauren, and their daughter, Ella, of Wyomissing. Also surviving are her sister, Elaine, wife of Edward Brower, Helotes, TX; her sister, Ruth Ann Groff of Lancaster; her brother, Larry Reifsnyder and wife Kathy of Bethel; and her brother, Carl Reifsnyder and wife Carolyn of West Lawn.

Jean was predeceased by her grandson, Alexander Brick.

A visitation will be held Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd, Wyomissing. Burial will be private.
