Jean E. Kershner, 79 of Tilden Township died October 16th in the Laurel Center, Tilden Township where she resided for several years. Her husband William J. Kershner died December 30, 2008. Jean was born in Hamburg and was the daughter of the late Earl S. and Beulah I (Burkhart) Smith. She worked at Allen-Sherman Huff, Hamburg as a secretary from 1949 to 1951; she was employed at Windsor Knitting Mill as a machine operator from 1968 to 1970 and last worked at the Hamburg Center in housekeeping from 1970 to 1974. Jean was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg and was a 1949 graduate of Hamburg High School. She is survived by 3 daughters, Lois J.(Kershner) wife of Gregory Kozlowski, Tilden Township, Eileen E. (Kershner) wife of Gregory Coller, Hamburg and Gail Kershner, Orwigsburg, and 7 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM till time of service. Burial will be in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Township.
