Jean D. Giles

Jean Doris (Moyer) Giles, 81, of Spring Township, died surrounded by her loving family January 24, 2009 in the Reading Hospital Hospice Unit.

She was the wife of Robert Frederick Giles, whom she married June 29, 1946.

Born in Reading, PA on November 18, 1927, she was a daughter of the late William Jacob Moyer and Katie K. (Stump) Moyer.

She was a 1945 graduate of Reading High School.

Jean was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Reading.

She is also survived by three daughters: Karen J. (Giles), wife of Raymond T. Palm of Centre Township; Eileen M. (Giles), wife of Michael J. Dubowski of Salcha, Alaska and Cynthia R. (Giles), wife of Robert C. Willard of Spring Township.

Other survivors include five grandchildren: Joshua R. Dubowski, Sarah M. Dubowski, Jillian R. Palm, Matthew R. Smith and Mallory E. Smith.

She was predeceased by two siblings: Carl D. Moyer and Mary K. Carpenter.

Services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, with Rev. Mary E. Wolfe and Rev. Keith K. Rohrbach officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Bern Cemetery.
