"JB" was born in 1927 to John L. and Katharine (Green) Bertolet. He was raised in Wyomissing Hills where he lived until joining the navy, at 17-years-old during WWII. After the navy, he married what was to be his life-long companion, Lila (Warfield) Bertolet. He is survived by Lila and their four children: Tom W. Bertolet (Wife, Denise Bertolet), Dr. Katharine L. Bertolet (Husband, Fred Rosse), William S. Bertolet, and Anne Bertolet Rice (Husband, Andrew Rice). Bertolet, and his sister, Mary Bertolet Adams.
As a young man, JB worked with his father in the Kendall Oil business. Later, he joined his brother as co-owner of the General Tire dealership in Reading. The last 25 years of his career he worked in real estate, until his retirement in 1992.
JB's greatest joy was found with his family and on the golf course. JB was dearly loved by his friends and family. He was a kind, considerate man and a loving father who was sincere and caring with his children and grandchildren. With his warm heart and easy sense of humor he turned any gathering into a lighthearted celebration. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. In JB's words, "Happy Days are Here Again."
In his final years of life JB found peace in his faith and was a beloved member of his church family.
