Jean B. Meck

Jean B. Meck, 89, of Tilden Twp., passed away, Saturday, November 24, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital East- Schuylkill Campus. She was the loving wife of Lee E. Meck, who died December 23, 2001. Born in District Township, she was the daughter of the late Paul G. and Beulah M. (Miller) Kemp. Jean was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden, Twp. She was employed as a sewing machine operator at Windsor Knitting Mill for 22 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary Hamburg Fire Company, Shoemakersville, Shartlesville, and Pikesville Fire Co. Jean was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to play Bingo. Jean also loved playing games and drinking beer with her family. She is survived by two daughters: Nancy L. Meck, Hamburg, and Norma J. Stauffer, Hamburg. Four grandchildren: Cindy A., wife of Richard Roberts, Jr.; Daniel E. Stauffer; Angela D., wife of Jeremy Miller; and Brian Stauffer, husband of Denise; five great grandchildren: Kelsey, wife of Joshua Rosario, Brittany and Brandon Stauffer, Hunter Roberts, and Austin Miller; two step great grandchildren: Jessica and Josh Hill; and one honorary great great granddaughter, Sheri Whitman also survive her. Jean was predeceased by one brother, Donald G. Kemp, husband of Shirley Kemp. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 30, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, 40 South 4th Street, Hamburg. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Church, Tilden Township.
