Jean Ann (Young) Bare, 86, of Douglassville and formerly of Reading, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 12, 2026. She was the widow of Donald E. Bare, who passed away on July 19, 2016.
Born in Reading to the late Edwin C. and Lucy M. (Polito) Young, Jean graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 1957.
For many years, she was a hardworking and valued employee of the Wyomissing Area School District serving as a secretary and specializing in payroll and personnel administration. She retired in 2004.
Loving the Lord, she was a faithful member of the Mountain View Chapel of Douglassville.
Jean will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very supportive of her family and provided dedicated care to her husband in his final years. She treasured the close bonds she shared with her brother and sisters, as well as her extended family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Deborah J. Parese, wife of David Parese, of Douglassville, and Jeffrey A. Bare, husband of Traci Bare, of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Drew Parese; Emily Miller, wife of Brian Miller; Hannah Fruits, wife of Austin Fruits; Meagan Roberge, wife of Jacob Roberge; and Lauren Keith, wife of Matthew Keith; and great-grandchildren, Everlane Fruits, Grayson Keith, and the expected Maxwell Jay Miller.
She is also survived by her sister, Jessica Fuller, wife of Serafin Fuller, of Lansdale, as well as her nieces, nephews, and their families.
In addition to her husband, Donald, Jean was predeceased by her brother, Donald Young, and sister, Margaret Wenger.

Services for Jean will be announced at a later date. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
