Jay D. Swavely

Jay D. Swavely, 53, of Narvon, passed away April 2, 2011 in Golden Living Center, Exeter.

Born in Reading, he was a son of Mary Ellen (Hafer) Swavely, Narvon and the late Leonard E. Swavely.

Jay was a graduate of Exeter High School.

He was a mechanic for Hafer's Nursery and Garden Center.

Jay raced dragsters and then micro sprints for over 20 years. His son, Jason, continues his legacy with his own pursuit of racing. He also loved riding in the golf cart with his grandson, Ryan.

He is survived by his two children: Nicole A. Swavely and Jason D. Swavely, both of Douglassville. Also surviving is his brother, Rick C. Swavely, Narvon and two nephews: Josh, husband of Mandy Swavely and Brock, husband of Stacey Swavely. His grandson, Ryan Heckman, also survives him.
