Jay M. Snukis

Jay Michael Snukis, 45, of Muhlenberg Township, died of natural causes March 20th at 1:52 pm in the St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been since March 8th.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of Thomas J. and Nina R. (Brahler) Snukis of Muhlenberg Township.

He was a 1979 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Snukis was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

He was employed for a number of years as a lab technician at Ritz Camera in Boscov's North, Muhlenberg Township, last working February 27th.

Snukis was a member since 1989 of the Berks County Chapter of the American Kennel Club.

He was a life time painter and had three paintings featured in both the Collie Variety and the Golden Retriever World.

Snukis was also a freelance writer for the last 5 years, with an article published in the Australian Dog Collectable Magazine.

He is also survived by two brothers, Col. Thomas J. of Chesapeake, Virginia and David S. of Muhlenberg Township.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 am in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park. Viewings Thursday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Friday 9:30 - 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum, Muhlenberg Township.
