Jay Anthony Hollenbacher, 64, of Baytown, Texas, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 in Baytown. He was born October 19, 1951 in Reading, Pennsylvania to his late parents, John Jacob Hollenbacher and Elizabeth Moyer Hollenbacher.
Jay grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Reading High School in 1969. He was a fan of all types of sports. Jay played midget baseball in his early childhood. Later he became an accomplished bowler, proud of his 300 ring. As a '"lefty", he was an asset to his teams in both sports. One of his favorite past times was to plant himself in the stands at the Reading Fairgrounds each Friday night to watch the stock car races. Jay went on to becoming an excellent golfer, always enjoying watching Tiger Woods. He was a retired Air Force veteran after 20 years of service to our country. After the military he was the owner operator of Aesthetic Arts in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for 10 years. In 2002 Jay moved to Baytown to be closer to family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Janie Porter Woolverton and a niece, Heather Hammers.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Jeannie Hollenbacher; son, Adam Todd Hollenbacher and his wife, Michelle, Evansville, IN; sisters, Sue Pantaleo and her husband, Al, Mifflinburg, PA; and Sandra Fiorini and her husband, Clem, Mohnton, PA; grandchildren, Adaline, Alston, Ananniah and Anders Hollenbacher; mother-in-law, Barbara "Mama" Huckaby; sister-in-law, Joyce Porter Ott and her husband, John and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Services were held June 14, 2016 in Baytown, Texas with burial in White Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading is in charge of local arrangements. www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
