Javan Latir Forster, aged 20 years and 10 months, died in a vehicle accident in Berks County on Friday, August 11, 2023. Born October 11, 2002, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pennsylvania, Javan is the son of Shelby (Dietrich) Forster, life-long partner of Rafael Matias, of Schuylkill Haven, and Latir Forster, husband of Timiko, of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Since 2020, Javan has resided between Schuylkill and Berks Counties. Javan was the life of the party. He will always be remembered for his contagious smile, his sense of humor, his caring attitude, and the great love he had for his friends and family. Javan's major goal in life was to always make sure he was doing something that made him happy. Javan's favorite thing to do was to hang out with his many friends, especially if it included working on vehicles. Over his short life, Javan owned many vehicles and would be so happy every time he acquired a new ride. If it had a motor, it would make him smile, especially if it was a truck.
Javan graduated with honors in 2020 from Believers Academy, West Palm Beach, Florida. Javan was on the wrestling team at Palm Beach Lakes High School from 2018-2020. His nickname from the team was "Speedy." Javan represented Palm Beach County in Division One wrestling, ranking 4th and was also a NCWA Championship winner with a record of 45-10. Before moving to Florida in 2018, Javan attended Lighthouse Christian Academy and the Hamburg Area School District where he also wrestled and played baseball and football. With his athleticism and talent, Javan joined Fresh Life in Berks County where he enjoyed many scooter and skateboarding competitions.
Besides his heartbroken parents, Javan leaves behind a younger brother, Latir M. Forster II, and a younger sister, Azariah Matias. Azariah will always remember her "bro bro" whom she loved and admired immensely.
Other surviving family members include his mom-mom and pop-pop, Susan and Michael Dietrich; his grandmother and grandfather, Harriette and Arthur Forster; his grandfather, Brian Dietrich; his step-grandfather, Daniel Overton; and his step-grandparents, Rickey and Angela Exford.
Javan was a nephew to Sedar Forster, Kol Faye, Amat Forster, Letticia Pratt, Suru Forster, Kumba Bah, Cody Snyder, Sarah Jean Schappell, and Daniel Overton. Javan and his Uncle Daniel and his Aunt Sarah always held a special bond between them, and Javan will be deeply missed by them both. Javan also leaves behind his lifelong best friend, Jaden Kotulka.
Javan has many great aunts, great uncles, cousins, as well as a host of other family and many friends from all over the United States, The Gambia - West Africa, Europe, and abroad who will always remember him with love.
Although many are grieving Javan's death, take comfort knowing that he is smiling right now. He has been reunited with his brother, Ladore Sedar Forster, who passed away in 2019; his great grandmother, Loretta Ernst, and his best buddy, his great grandfather, Ronald Ernst, both of who passed away in 2020 Forever loved by all, never forgotten. Keep smiling, Javan—we will all be together again someday.
