Jason John Eckroth

Jason John Eckroth, 47, formerly of Tampa, passed away on July 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Kenneth R. And Lynne A. (Ruppert) Eckroth.

Family was very important to Jason, and he was fiercely loyal to his family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or simply share a laugh. He enjoyed R&B, hip hop, and the musical group, Jodeci. A devoted movie enthusiast, he could spend hours enjoying films, but Star Wars held a special place in his heart.

Sports were another lifelong passion. He was a Hurricane for life, and proudly cheered for the players that played for the infamous Miami U, watched every game he could, and loved talking sports with anyone willing to join the conversation.

Those cherishing Jason’s memory are his children: Kevin Jackson, Kenneth Eckroth, Juliana Eckroth, Devon Eckroth, and Leon Eckroth; his grandson, Aasiah Jackson; and his sister, Elizabeth Turner. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Elizabeth Ruppert, as well as his paternal grandparents, Robert and Kathryn Eckroth.

A Farewell Service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, Pa 19611. A Celebration of life will be celebrated at a later date.
