Jaroslava Kohout

Jaroslava "Yarka" (Smejkalova) Kohout, 66, of Exeter Township, died December 15, 2014 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Born March 11, 1948 in Prague, Czech Republic, she was a daughter of the late Frantisek and Anna (Dedova) Smejkal.

She was the companion of Leon Slobodzian, Jr.

Yarka was employed as an electrical engineer with Entech Engineering, Reading for over 25 years, retiring in 2013.

A nature lover, she enjoyed hiking, cross country skiing and kayaking. She also loved visiting national parks, especially Arcadia National Park in Maine.

An amazing artist, Yarka loved painting, ceramics and knitting.

She was very philanthropic, having donated to many charities.

Surviving are her two children: Michael P. Kohout of San Diego, CA and Suzanne J.Radonsky Kohout, wife of Marek Radonsky of San Jose, CA.

Other survivors include her grandson, Paul Radonsky and her sister, Hana Gollova of Prague, Czech Republic.

Services will be Saturday at 4 p.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
