Janice E. Bailey

Janice Elaine (Schmeck) Bailey, 78, of Muhlenberg Township, died February 3, 2009 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of L. Charles Bailey, whom she married April 29, 1950.

Born in Blandon, PA on November 12, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Charles S. and Emma (Williams) Schmeck.

She was employed 28 years as a laborer with Luden's Candy, Reading.

Janice is also survived by four children: Sandra L, wife of Ronald L. Hinnershitz of Temple; Judith A. Goodkind of Temple; Cynthia J., wife of Michael J. Hurst of Muhlenberg Township and Chuck, husband of Sherri L. (Rowley) Bailey of Muhlenberg Township.

There are also 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three siblings: Harold Schmeck, Elroy Schmeck, Carl Schmeck.

Services will be private, with Rev. Mark E. Brophy officiating. Burial will be in Maidencreek Cemetery.
