Janet F. Stankiewicz

Janet F. Stankiewicz, 65, of Blair Avenue died of natural causes April 2 at 5:35 a.m. in her residence.

Her husband, Leon P. Stankiewicz, died March 16, 1993.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Percival and Edna M. Frey.

Stankiewicz was employed for 14 years as the general manager of Arner's Restaurant, Reading, retiring in June 2000. She was also the co-founder of Stankiewicz & Sons Roofing & General Contracting, Reading.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Reading.

Stankiewicz served on the board of directors for both the Schuylkill Valley Restaurant Association and Kissinger's Cemetery, Wyomissing.

She is survived by two sons, Michael S. Sr. and Richard P., both of Reading; and two daughters, Tami L. Stankiewicz, Reading, and Cheryl A. (Stankiewicz) Mengel, Robesonia.

Other survivors include a sister, Linda L. (Frey) Kemp, Reading.

There are also five grandchildren.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale, is in charge of arrangements.
