Janet L. (Scherrer) Satz, 73, of Spring Twp., passed away on June 27, 2018, in her residence.
She was the beloved wife of Michael R. Satz. They were married on September 20, 1986.
Born in Reading on September 13, 1944, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Caroline M. (Entzminger) Scherrer.
Janet attended Reading High School. She worked as a cashier at Pathmark in Mt. Penn and later worked at the Shillington location. She was also a greeter at Wilson Middle School.
She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church in Whitfield.
Janet was a life-long member of the Olivet Boys & Girls Club Ladies Auxiliary. She also offered her time volunteering in organizations such as Veterans Helping Veterans and St. Ignatius Loyola Church.
She loved all animals, going to Doo-Wop concerts, vacation cruises, and casinos.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Joseph Wurster, husband of Daina A., Sinking Spring; stepdaughter, Jennifer A. Pleam, wife of Scott, Sinking Spring; granddaughters: Kylie, Ashley, and Abigail; step- granddaughters: Kate and Sarah; great-grandson, Brady; and nephew John B. Scherrer, husband of Leigh Anne, Wyomissing.
She was predeceased by brother, John J. Scherrer, husband of Barbara (Graupp) Scherrer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Loyola R.C.C., 2700 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Mausoleum, Reading. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, July 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc.,739 Penn Ave., West Reading, 19611.
